Ranching, Water, and Arizona Values: Mike Gannuscio Shares His Vision for LD30
MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ — After emerging from a competitive Republican primary as one of the top Republican candidates for Arizona House Legislative District 30, Mike Gannuscio is now turning his attention toward the November general election.
The primary brought together a field of Republican candidates seeking to represent one of Arizona’s most strongly conservative and rural legislative districts. With the primary now behind him, Gannuscio says his focus remains on protecting Arizona’s water, supporting agriculture, strengthening rural communities, preserving the conservative values many Mohave County residents hold close, securing Arizona’s borders, and representing the residents of LD30 at the State Capitol.
For Gannuscio, advancing from the Republican primary marks a new stage of the campaign — but he says the issues that motivated him to run have not changed.
Originally from California, Gannuscio has lived in Arizona for more than 20 years and says his experiences living and working in rural communities helped shape his understanding of the issues families across Mohave County face every day.
After discussions with Arizona State Representative John Gillette, Gannuscio says he felt called to step forward and represent rural Arizona communities that often feel overlooked by larger cities and state politics.
A lifelong Republican, Gannuscio says his campaign is centered around less government overreach, stronger local communities, and policies that help Arizona families thrive. Throughout discussions with The Mohave Insider, he emphasized protecting Arizona’s future while ensuring communities remain safe, self-reliant, and economically stable.
Public Safety and Rural Emergency Services
Gannuscio says he believes laws already on the books should be taken seriously and properly enforced. With a background in law enforcement, he says he strongly supports public safety, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and first responders while also supporting stronger cooperation between agencies during emergencies and disasters.
He also says he wants to ensure stronger mutual aid agreements between fire, police, and medical services so rural communities are better prepared when emergencies happen.
“Arizona Water First”
Water issues remain one of Gannuscio’s biggest concerns.
He says Arizona must prioritize “Arizona water first” and take stronger action against over-pumping and policies that threaten long-term groundwater supplies.
Gannuscio says that before major decisions are made, Arizona leaders must first obtain accurate water data and reliable numbers so communities fully understand what resources are truly available and what risks may exist for the future.
He also says he supports equal and fair water allocation while protecting Arizona water rights, homesteads, ranchers, and agricultural communities from future shortages and outside pressures.
Ranching and Agriculture
As a well-known rancher and longtime advocate for agriculture, Gannuscio says he has seen firsthand the struggles rural Arizona communities face when it comes to water access, development pressures, healthcare shortages, and economic challenges.
He also served as president of the Arizona Cattle Growers Association for two terms over four years and says agriculture remains one of the backbones of rural Arizona life.
Gannuscio says he understands the challenges rural ranchers face, including irresponsible gate cutting and damage to fencing that can lead to cattle loss, roadway hazards, and public safety concerns.
He says he wants stronger accountability and awareness to help protect ranching communities, livestock, property owners, and travelers throughout rural Arizona.
Faith, Family and Arizona Values
Family remains at the center of Gannuscio’s life and campaign.
A father and grandfather, Gannuscio says none of his success would have been possible without his wife, Kenna, whom he describes as his strongest supporter and foundation through life’s challenges.
Together they built a successful ranching operation in Mohave County while also building a life centered around faith, family, hard work, and commitment to their community.
Gannuscio also says he strongly supports parental rights, parental control in education, and ESA programs, believing parents should have the final say when it comes to their children’s education.
He says schools should focus on strong American values, practical education, and preparing students for successful futures.
Rural Healthcare and Economic Growth
Healthcare accessibility and infrastructure were also major discussion topics.
Gannuscio says rural Arizona communities often struggle to attract and retain quality healthcare providers, and he wants to help create opportunities that encourage full-time medical professionals to stay and serve rural communities long-term.
Economic growth and small-business support were also key discussion topics. Gannuscio says he wants to see policies that encourage businesses to grow while helping Arizona remain economically competitive without overregulation or excessive government interference.
He also expressed concerns about protecting property owners and says he hopes to address squatting issues that negatively impact Arizona homeowners and rural residents.
Staying Accessible to LD30 Residents
Supporters describe Gannuscio as approachable and easy to communicate with.
During discussions with The Mohave Insider, he emphasized that he leaves himself open for residents to call and discuss concerns directly because he believes many Arizona residents feel unheard by government leaders today.
In addition to his ranching and law enforcement background, Gannuscio says he holds several certifications and brings years of hands-on experience in both public safety and rural community life.
From the Republican Primary to the General Election
Gannuscio’s advancement from the Republican primary now moves his campaign into its next phase: the November 3, 2026 general election.
For voters across LD30, the general election will determine who ultimately represents the district at the Arizona Legislature.
As the campaign moves forward, issues including water rights, agriculture, border security, education, healthcare access, economic growth, public safety, property rights, and preserving Arizona’s rural identity are expected to remain central topics for voters across Mohave County and the rest of LD30.
