Route 66 helped shape Kingman into an important stop for travelers, businesses and families heading west. From its official designation in 1926 and the Dust Bowl migration to the rise of roadside tourism and today’s Historic Route 66 attractions, the Mother Road remains a major part of Kingman’s identity and Mohave County history.
