BULLHEAD CITY, AZ — After months of anticipation and a longer wait than many local families expected, Wally Wombat’s has officially opened its Bullhead City location. The Mohave Insider visited on opening day to see what families can expect, what stood out to us, and a few things parents may want to know before heading out.

Our First Impression

Bullhead City families have long asked for more indoor, family-focused entertainment, particularly during months when Arizona temperatures make outdoor activities difficult. Wally Wombat’s provides another option for parents looking for a place where their children can play, stay active and get out of the heat.

Our first impression was largely shaped by the employees.

During our visit, staff members were friendly, professional and attentive. Opening day can come with plenty of challenges for any new business, but employees appeared engaged and willing to step in when customers needed assistance.

We also observed members of management personally helping guests, including a pregnant woman and families who needed additional assistance. Rather than simply directing customers from a distance, staff members were actively helping people navigate the facility.

One employee monitoring the ball pit particularly stood out to us. The employee remained attentive to the area and worked to keep debris and other objects out of the ball pit. In a facility primarily serving children, those smaller details can make a significant difference in a parent’s experience.

The Facility

The facility was clean, comfortable and air-conditioned — something families in Bullhead City will certainly appreciate.

Having another indoor option where children can burn off energy without spending extended periods outside in extreme temperatures is a welcome addition to the community.

What About the Price?

Families should review current admission prices before visiting, particularly those bringing several children. Depending on family size and how frequently you plan to visit, the total cost could be an important consideration.

Our review isn’t based solely on admission price, however. We also considered the cleanliness of the facility, staff attentiveness, indoor environment and overall experience provided to families.

For our family, the experience was positive, but each family should consider the current pricing and what works for its budget.

A Few Things to Know Before You Go

Everyone entering the play areas, including adults, should be prepared to wear socks.

We also recommend completing the required waiver before leaving home. Taking care of it beforehand can save time when you arrive, particularly when visiting with multiple children.

One area we would like to see the business consider as it settles into the community is a basic adult dress-code standard that helps maintain a consistently family-oriented atmosphere. This was a minor observation from our visit and did not take away from our overall positive experience.

Our Review

Our opening-day experience was overwhelmingly positive.

The strongest part of our visit was the staff. Their attentiveness, professionalism and willingness to assist families made an impression, especially considering we visited on the first day of operation.

The facility was clean, cool and provided the type of indoor children’s entertainment that Bullhead City families have been asking for.

There are considerations — particularly pricing for larger families and our suggestion regarding an adult dress-code standard — but neither changed the overall quality of our experience.

Bullhead City waited a long time for Wally Wombat’s to open. Based on what we experienced on opening day, the employees and management were putting significant effort into creating a welcoming and attentive environment for local families.

We visited as a family, and we left looking forward to returning.

The Mohave Insider also hopes to sit down with the team behind the Bullhead City location for a future interview. After the long road to opening, we would like to hear more about what it took to bring the facility to Bullhead City and what they have planned for the future.

Welcome to Bullhead City, Wally Wombat’s.
